How to Bid

Everyone is welcome to participate

Everyone is welcome to bid with us. There are a few options when it comes to how you are able to bid, and you can use one or a combination of bidding mediums. For example, you may want to leave some pre-bids ahead of the live auction and then also bid live in real time during the live auction webcast, to make certain you are not outbid or to bid on other items in the auction. It is also important to review the terms of sale before executing bids; you can access them from the online catalog or the auction detail page.

Absentee and pre-bids

You are able to leave pre-bids and absentee bids ahead of the live webcast auction. This is very useful if you will not be available during the live online auction. We recommend leaving your highest and best bid: all pre-bids are executed and controlled by the online bidding software, automatically to the increment necessary to win the lot. For example, if you leave an absentee bid of $3,000 on a lot but competitive bidding only requires $2,000 to win, you win the lot at $2,000. Following each auction we consistently hear from buyers who lost out and wish they had been more aggressive with their absentee bids; please don’t let this be you.

Live online, during the webcast

Take a moment to register ahead of the auction. Registration takes only a few moments, and once approved you can bid in real time as each lot is offered, from any device or location.

Telephone bids

Telephone and absentee bids can also be submitted directly to the gallery; call 850-759-0655.
